What changed and why
"Every Monday" / "First Wednesday of the month" sits at the very top in tier-colored label caps. It's the first thing a returning user scans (do I already know this mic?) and the first thing a new user needs (is this a one-off or ongoing?).
Unconventional, but for a recurring-mic directory people think in places, not event titles. Pinellas Ale Works is the recognizable thing; Monday Night Mics is what happens there. Event name stays the h3 (bigger), venue sits right beneath.
Current cards stack a recurrence pill and a tier pill. Since recurrence now leads the top line, the recurrence pill is redundant. Just the tier signal remains (Verified / Claimed / Community).
Thick 4px rule on the left edge instead of a full border. Easier to scan a grid of cards because the color sits in a consistent vertical band, and it doesn't compete with card boundaries.
Host renders as a small muted line with an optional tiny avatar. Flyer is gone from the card entirely — flyer quality varies a lot, and a small thumbnail competes with the typographic hierarchy. Flyers still live on the event detail page where they can be hero-sized.
This sandbox uses a real event from your DB so you can eyeball whether this reads better than the current treatment on your homepage. If the direction clicks, the pattern can be ported into EventList so every surface picks it up.
